Solar Pool Heating Makes Good Green Sense

Swimming pool solar heating systems come in a variety of shapes and designs, from very basic do-it-yourself creations with black PVC pipes to highly sophisticated systems using the latest in solar panel installations.

The driving force behind whichever solar pool heat you choose to go with is a desire to swim for as much of the year as possible. The best case scenario is to be able to swim all-year round, although for some of us just being able to extend the swimming season by a couple of months is a real boon. And to do this in an environmentally friendly way that reduces not only the home's carbon footprint but also its energy bills makes good green and economic sense.

SOLAR POOL HEATING -- AN OVERVIEW

While exorbitant mainstream energy prices may cause many homeowners to leave their pools unheated for long periods. With a solar heating system you can heat your pool to warm temperatures for much of the year.

He reports that: "Last year I installed a solar pool heater that I made myself. I just T'd the 2 inch pipe coming out from the pump and the T side was 1 inch. Thus the T slips off some of the circulating water and runs it through a set of half inch black tubing. There are two headers at each end and then the water comes out onto the slide and back into the pool."
